Fractured Foot & A Milkshake – What Better Way to Start 2009

As if 2008 wasn’t whirlwind enough we get to start 2009 with a bang! Only two days short of the new year Lil Man took a nasty fall and ended up fracturing a Metatarsal bone in his left foot. Poor little guy was running and playing without a worry in the world and the next thing we knew we were sitting in the ER waiting for X-rays to see how much damage had been done. Who knew a simple fall could actually break a bone?  Well … it did and the end results is having his foot wrapped in an Ace bandage, follow-up with his doctor on Friday for an Orthopedic referral, and whatever comes from that.  The ER doctor kept saying the words “Orthopedic Surgeon” and I refused to ask if he was thinking this fracture may require surgery.  I HATE the thought of Lil Man having to go through that … the fracture is bad enough.

One thing that kept coming to mind while we were waiting in the ER for the x-ray results was what happened to Annalie (Bethany Actually’s daughter) on New Years Eve last year.  I remembered reading the update posts letting everyone know how Annalie was recovering from her unfortunate accident and how it seemed to take forever before Annalie was back to her normal cute little self.  I’m worried now about how long it will take before Lil Man is back to normal. I miss so much the sound of pitter patter of little feet running through the house. One day with no little boy feet and I’m crazy … what’s it going to be like if they actually have to cast his foot and he’s down for 6-8 weeks?

While I sit home tonight cuddling my precious little grandson and having homemade milkshakes I’ll send a wealth of good wishes to each and every one of you for a fruitful and prosperous New Year.  Be Safe and God Bless you all.

Christmas Pictures

Peyton Christmas 2008-5, originally uploaded by NC_Belle36.

I figured since Christmas is HERE I probably should do some Christmas snapshots. We chose not to have Lil Man’s Christmas pictures done professionally this year since his birthday is exactly 2 weeks after Christmas and those birthday pictures are the “biggy’ ones for me!!

From our home to yours … Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May God richly bless you throughout the holiday season and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

Filed Photo MeMe

Cindy over at Citystreams has tagged her readers for a fun MeMe that she found at Suz’s blog Steece’s Pieces.  Since I faithfully read both of these blogs I thought I would share a bit of bloglove by telling you a bit about these two blogs and by joining in the Filed Photo MeMe.

First let’s talk a minute about Cindy … Cindy is a highschool teacher, wife to a cop, and Mom to a beautiful little girl we in the blog world know as Bri. When you visit with Cindy be sure to check out her Novel Index add her to your blogroll and/or feedburner and wait anxiously, with me, for the next new installment to Death of a Ballerina.

Now for Suz … WOW what can I say about this woman? Suz is a stay at home Mom, wife to Joe, and mother to Drew, Savannah, Ben & Ethan. Now being a Mom to one child can be trying sometimes, give a shot at being a Mom to four children and compound that by being a Mom to four children who are ALL THE SAME AGE! Yes! you read that right … four children who are ALL THE SAME AGE.  See … Drew, Savannah, Ben & Ethan are quads. As Suz’s blog header will tell you they prayed for ONE, they were blessed with FOUR. To top it all off … these precious little babies are all under the age of two! We’re just now getting into the ‘Terrible Twos” with Lil Man so I can’t even begin to imagine attempting it with four!

On to the MeMe … In this MeMe you should go into the photos you have stored on your hard drive. Select the fourth file and then select the fourth photo in that file. Once you have found your photo, post it to your blog and describe the photo details. No cropping or editing of the photo before posting … simply find it, post it, and tell about it. Then tag your blog friends to join in … I’m tagging everyone who reads my blog to join this MeMe.

Baby Dresser

This is a chest of drawers that I refinished and decorated when Stasha was pregnant with Lil Man. When I initally decorated the dresser her intents were to use a Precious Moment’s nursery theme. Unfortunately that idea was shot out of the water when her crib bedding was lost in layaway. We changed the nursery theme to blue gingham teddy bears but we left the dresser with the Precious Moment’s theme because we felt it was too darn cute to change it.

Now it’s your turn … find your fourth photo file and the fourth photo in that file and tell us all about it.

Two Saturdays in a Row

I find myself working. I could seriously use a day off with nothing to do and no one around to bother me. Actually I’ll take part of that back … I could use a day off with nothing to do and the 51 year old man child living in my house would disappear and leave everybody alone (the girls and Lil Man can stay!)  That my dear friends would be a grand day!

Do You Like V-Tech Toys for Kids?

Stay tuned for giveaway details!!

I love V-Tech. I started buying their toys for Lil Man before he was even born. Honestly I started buying them when my daughter first found out she was pregnant and by the time Lil Man was born we were a true V-Tech family. He has grown up with V-Tech and what he has outgrown we’ve tucked away instead of getting rid of so now with a new baby on the way we’re ready to pull them back out and get them ready for Lil Buddy when he arrives in March.

If you truly enjoy V-Tech and would like a chance to win the V-Tech KidiArt Studio head on over to Momma Findings and read her review and find out how you can enter her giveaway of this awesome V-Tech product. While you are there be sure to add Momma Findings to your feed reader or subscribe to the Momma Findings blog. You will not be disappointed! Trust me!
